Day trips from Lake Garda’s west shore
From Toscolano Maderno you can do focused day trips without changing base: lakeside towns, the ferry, golf and mountains. These are the outings we suggest most often to Borgo Antico guests.

Half day: Salò or Gargnano
Salò has a long lakeside, shops and cafés. Gargnano is quieter, with a harbour feel. Both are close enough to leave the afternoon free for the pool or beach.

Ferry Maderno – Torri
One of the easiest experiences: board, cross the lake and walk Torri del Benaco. Check the day’s timetable and come back on a later sailing.

Active day: Pizzocolo or golf
Hikers head for Monte Pizzocolo and the rifugio. Golfers choose Golf Bogliaco, one of Italy’s historic courses with Garda views.

Long day: Limone or Riva
Limone and Riva del Garda deserve an early start. They’re farther but still west/north shore. Return to Maderno in the evening without changing hotels.

From Maderno harbour · crossing the lake
Ferry to Torri del Benaco
From Maderno you can take the Navigazione Lago di Garda ferry across to Torri del Benaco on the eastern shore. The crossing itself is part of the outing: water, breeze and a different view of the mountains. Torri invites a slow walk through the historic centre, the castle area and the lakefront, then the boat back to Maderno.

Salò is the elegant neighbour to the south: a long lakeside promenade, restaurants, shopping and a lively evening atmosphere. Ideal for dinner out or a half-day when you want town life without going far from Maderno.

Limone sul Garda
Limone is one of the classic northern-shore villages: a narrow lakeside strip, lemon terraces in the hills and a lively harbour promenade. Ideal for a scenic half-day by car along the Gardesana or, in season, by boat from other lake towns.

Riva del Garda
Riva sits at the northern tip of Lake Garda, with a wide harbour, the Rocca and a town centre that feels alpine as much as lakeside. A strong full-day destination for walking, wind sports views and dinner by the water before returning to Maderno.
